WEDDING AT MASSERIA LAMA DI LUNA

PUGLIA / masseria lama di luna

Set within a 200-hectare organic estate in the hills of Alta Murgia, Masseria Lama di Luna is a restored 18th-century residence known as the "Valley of the Moon". Enclosed by stone walls and featuring 40 historic chimneys along its rooflines, this 1,400-square-meter eco-certified biomasseria was renovated using traditional mortar and raw local earth to maintain total feng-shui and architectural harmony. It operates as an exclusive sanctuary for couples seeking an authentic, sustainable, and deeply private Italian celebration.

What immediately sets Masseria Lama di Luna apart from a wedding photographer’s perspective is its golden light and vast open horizon. Situated at 300 meters above sea level, the property overlooks sweeping organic olive groves and vineyards, while its massive stone courtyard provides a protected, candlelit center for long outdoor banquets. From sunset portraits along the infinity brackish-water pool to late-night celebrations beneath string lights in the main courtyard, the estate offers an unhurried, cinematic atmosphere.

The venue

I love that Masseria Lama di Luna sits quietly in the countryside near Andria, right at the foot of the Alta Murgia National Park. It offers total seclusion on a 200-hectare estate while keeping your guests close to iconic landmarks like Castel del Monte, Trani’s coastal cathedral, and local olive oil mills. It turns a destination wedding into a slow-living Italian escape surrounded by nature and history.  View my wedding portfolio →.

WHY I RECOMMEND LAMA DI LUNA

The masseria’s 18th-century stone courtyard creates a wind-protected, open-air dining room designed for long imperial seating. At night, overhead string lights reflect off the pale stone, producing soft, even light across every table. Because the entire evening, from speeches to the dance floor, unfolds in one central area, the party never scatters, keeping the energy high in a single visual frame.

Concentrated Courtyard Energy

01

Perched 300 meters above sea level, the estate catches unobstructed, long-lasting golden hour light. The 200 sqm brackish-water pool sits right on the ridge, creating a mirror reflection of the sky over the surrounding olive groves. We can capture elevated, editorial portraits in 15 minutes right at golden hour without ever feeling disconnected from your wedding party.

Sunset Light Over the Infinity Pool & Murgia Plains

02

Because the masseria sits inside a private 4.4-hectare fenced area surrounded by 200 hectares of organic countryside, there are no noise disruptions or public intrusions. You and your guests get total freedom to move between the courtyard, pool, cinema room, and outdoor gardens, keeping the entire multi-day celebration private, calm, and exclusive.

Complete Privacy Across 200 Organic Hectares

03

Ultimately, Masseria Lama di Luna delivers the purest expression of authentic, eco-luxury Puglia. Combining 18th-century architectural soul with 200 hectares of certified organic landscape, it offers complete exclusivity, organic farm-to-table cuisine, and accommodation for your core bridal party. If you want a refined, multi-day wedding where your guests can dine under the stars in a historic stone courtyard and relax by an infinity pool over the Murgia valley, this is one of the most soul-stirring venues in Northern Puglia.
